  • The product being imported has not been included in the application scope of a Mexican Official Standard.
  • No Mexican Official Standard applies to the product.
  • A competent agency, according to its criteria, understands that the Standard does not apply. Such is the case established by Article 10, Annex 2.4.1, according to which the Secretary of Economy Agreement issues general rules and criteria on foreign trade (NOMs Agreement).

Item XVI of the aforementioned agreement and article states that electric and electronic products powered by voltages of 24 V or lower are exempt of presenting a compliance certificate when included in Mexican Official Standards NOM-001-SCFI-1993 (Electronic Apparatus - Household Electronic Apparatus Fed by Different Sources of Electrical Power - Safety Requirements and Testing Methods for Type Approval), NOM-003-SCFI-2000 (Electrical Products - Safety Specifications), NOM-016-SCFI-1993 (Electronic Devices For Office Use Powered By Different Sources Of Electrical Energy - Safety Requirements And Testing Methods) and NOM-019-SCFI-1998 (Safety of Data Processing Equipment).
