UL de Argentina Assistance Program

To assist you in complying with Argentinean mandatory requirements, UL de Argentina has been accredited by the OAA and recognized by the DNCI as an official Certification Organization.
UL de Argentina can certify all products under Resolution 92/98, including information technology equipment (printers, scanners, monitors, etc.), household appliances, luminaries (e.g., lighting fixtures) and audio/video equipment and authorize the manufacturers to apply DNCI’s Safety Mark - the "S" Mark and the "AR-UL" Mark.

Compliance to IEC or IRAM Standards

Resolution 92/98 requires compliance to IEC or IRAM standards. Existing information and test data used to get the UL certification or an IECEE CB Scheme Report issued by UL, can be used to obtain the Argentine certification.

Please note that evaluations in accordance with UL or IEC Standards must consider the Argentinean deviations such as voltage and plug requirements. (The plug requirements for cord connected devices can be found in IRAM 2063).

UL and Argentine Product Certification Mark

As of October 29, 1999 Argentina’s Secretary of Industry, Trade and Mining requires products that fall under their jurisdiction namely, but not limited to:

  • low voltage electrical equipment,
  • toys,
  • safety enclosures for hazardous products used domestically,
  • cement and steel used in construction, and
  • devices for gas

to bear this mark once they comply with the applicable Argentine requirements.
