compliance system in Brazil is primarily voluntary
with the exception of a limited number of product
categories requiring third party certification.
Brazilian standards are primarily modeled after
IEC/ISO standards. The use of Brazilian or International
standards is recommended.

Information technology companies that
export goods to Brazil need to find out prior
to export if their goods require mandatory certification.
UL Brazil can assist in obtaining this information
at ANATEL (National Telecommunication Agency).

Standards.

Instituto Nacional de Metrologia,
Normalização e Qualidade Industrial
(INMETRO) is the Accrediting Body organization
in Brazil.
